Tijuca National Park
Access: Estrada de Ferro Corcovado (Corcovado train station)
The statue of Christ the Redeemer, which is located at the top of Corcovado mountain (at an altitude of 710 metres), is one of the world's best-known and most visited monuments. The tour begins in the Cosme Velho District of Rio aboard a miniature train that runs through the steep Atlantic rainforest up to the foot of the statue and offers stunning glimpses of Rio from different angles.
From the top, you can admire the view over the whole city, which is nothing short of heavenly: Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Botanical Gardens, the Maracana Football Stadium and the Lake. At night the view is equally magical as the whole city glitters magically. Christ the Redeemer blesses visitors and residents from his perch on top of the mountain.
Open: Daily, 8.30 am to 6.30 pm. The train departs every 20 minutes and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes.
Adult ticket: BLR 36.00.
