Location
The Copacabana Palace is superbly located. It faces the world famous Copacabana Beach and yet is only minutes from the business centre, and the Ipanema and Leblon districts of Rio de Janeiro.

The hotel is located eight miles from the domestic airport, Santos Dumont, and 20 miles (about 40 minutes drive according to the traffic conditions) from Rio de Janeiro's international airport, Tom Jobim.

The Copacabana Palace is the jewel of the Orient-Express collection in the southern hemisphere and has welcomed the rich and famous through the doors since 1923.

Rio is three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (England) and one hour later than New York.

Business Hours
Most offices are open from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Banks are open Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm. 

Visa Requirements
As the Brazilian Foreign Office bases its policy on reciprocity, visitors from certain foreign countries will require a visa. Visas can be obtained from the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate and are usually processed within two working days. For a tourist visa, you will need to show your passport, valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, one passport-size photograph and a round-trip ticket.
